Twins Suffer 3-2 Home Defeat
|
St. Louis Cardinals starter Andy Lawson pitched a strong game against the Minnesota Twins at Target Field, leading the Cardinals to victory, 3-2. Jeff Haworth, credited with the save, is now 41 for 44 in save opportunities. The first-place Cardinals, at 83-30, lead the National League West Division by 24½ games.
Jake Armbruster had a direct impact on the outcome. Armbruster contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the third inning to put St. Louis up, 3-2.
St. Louis manager Nate Cards called it "a pretty good win."
