The New York Yankees took Boston pitcher Farri Mpasa's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Fenway Park. The final score had New York getting past the Red Sox, 5-3. Mpasa went 5 innings and allowed 3 runs, striking out 8. New York pitcher Bill Capers earned the win, hiking his record to 3-6. Ricky Pineda suffered the loss. New York is in 5th place in the American League East Division with a record of 46-56.

Josh Dickert came through with a big-time hit for New York. The designated hitter smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 5-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Dickert.
