Cardinals Win with Late Rally
|
The St. Louis Cardinals beat the New York Mets, 7-6, in 10 innings, in part because of right fielder Jose Natal. He was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Brad Collom, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save. St. Louis is now 58-40, 2 games up in the National League West Division.
Natal broke a deadlock in the top of the tenth inning, when he drew a walk, driving in 1 run, putting St. Louis up, 7-6.
"This was one of those 'not to be denied' games," said St. Louis field general Nate Cards.
