Rockies Suffer 3-1 Loss to Washington
Nationals Park was the site of a tense game between the Colorado Rockies and Washington Nationals.

The Washington Nationals went home winners at Nationals Park, thanks in large part to starter Devin Richard. Richard stifled the Colorado Rockies, enabling Washington to grab the 3-1 win. Richard got the win, improving to 8-5. He gave up 4 hits and walked 1 over 6.1 innings. He allowed 1 run. Leonel Curral earned save number 4 this season.

The Nationals got a big at-bat from left fielder Sanho Cevallos. For the game, Cevallos was 1 for 2 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 18th double of the season gave Washington a 2-1 lead.

Cevallos attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."

With the win, the Nationals have a record of 56-43.
