Loggers Collect 6-4 Win Over Red Sox
|
The Portland Loggers clipped the Boston Red Sox, 6-4, in 10 innings at Fenway Park. The standout performance belonged to Portland pitcher and Eureka, California, native Nick Dugan. The win went to Jackson Baumeister in relief. His record improves to 6-2. Juan Rojas took the loss. Jose Arenas earned the save for Portland, his 3rd.
Portland took a 6-4 lead on Octávio Baeta's 26th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Baeta hit in the top of the tenth, left Boston pitcher Cesar Ortigoza visibly frustrated.
"Our team showed some gumption," said Baeta. "I like it."
The Loggers, at 42-57, sit in 6th place in the American League West Division.
