The New York Mets grabbed a win, 5-4, over the San Francisco Giants at Citi Field. New York left fielder Ramon Benitez went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. The win for the Mets raised their record to 53-43.

Jaisten Adkins drove in one run for New York. The 29-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Cristopher Cruz. It was his 40th RBI of the season.

New York manager Mets Manager said his team played a "no nonsense" game.
