Bratt Razor-Sharp, Shuts Out Tampa Bay
|
New York Mets starter Mitchell Bratt really did a number on the Tampa Bay Rays, shutting them out, 4-0, on 2 hits in a complete game victory. He issued 1 walk and had 9 strikeouts.
"We didn't have good at-bats," said Tampa Bay manager Tampa Manager. "I don't make excuses, but when we were playing the game, our energy didn't show. That comes from either extremely good pitching or extremely lousy hitting and seeing as our team has a bunch of good hitters, I have to tip my cap to Bratt."
To this point in the season, Bratt shows a 9-5 record, 18 starts, 120.1 innings, 117 strikeouts and a 2.17 ERA.
