The Texas Rangers topped the Arizona Diamondbacks by a score of 7-6. Leading the way was second baseman Eddie Valdes. Valdes went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Rangers. Texas reliever Josh Baker snagged the win, upping his record to 7-4. Nolan Schubart shouldered the loss. Chris Simington earned the save for Texas, his 17th.

Jeremy Kuntz came through with a big-time hit for Texas. The designated hitter smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 7-5. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"I'm not out here to win a beauty contest," said Kuntz. "Obviously."

The setback makes Arizona 39-47.
