Pivotal Game 5 Goes to Host Yankees, 4-1
The New York Yankees have a critical edge over the Minnesota Twins in the League Championship, thanks to the veteran arm of Genesis Cabrera.

Cabrera, 35, put on a dominant performance at Yankee Stadium today, leading the Yankees to victory, 4-1, in a pivotal Game 5. New York is now one game away from the World Series, leading the best-of-7 series by a margin of 3-2. Minnesota will need to win both remaining games to advance.

Minnesota had little success against Cabrera and his fastball. Cabrera tossed 104 pitches over 6.2 innings for the Yankees.

"We're happy," Cabrera told reporters after the win. "When you're in the playoffs, you've got to treat every game like it could be your last."

Game 6 is scheduled for Thursday at Target Field in Minneapolis.
