The New York Mets trumped the Nashville Stars, 9-4, at Stars Yard. New York shortstop Jaisten Adkins was terrific. He went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Danny Weisbart picked up the win, lifting his record to 1-1 on the season. He struck out 7 and walked 4 in 6 innings, while yielding 4 runs. With the win, New York has a record of 47-36. Nashville falls to 39-44.

New York used a well-timed hit by Jose Pacheco to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Mets ahead, 4-3. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Mets Manager said.
