Kansas City Tops Toronto Again, 7-4
The Kansas City Royals moved to within one game of the League Championship Series today, downing the visiting Toronto Blue Jays at Kauffman Stadium by a score of 7-4. Royals right-hander Juan Then had a strong outing in which he threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball. The win gives the Royals a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 Division Series.

John Ley dealt the Blue Jays a blow in the bottom of the fifth. Batting with the bases loaded and Kansas City trailing 1-0, Ley, who finished 2nd in the AL in triples with 7 in 2025, hit a 2-2 slider for a 2-run double.

"I just tried to make good contact," said Ley.

Game 3 is scheduled for Tuesday at Rogers Centre in Toronto.
