Dodgers Clip Braves, 2-1, in DS Contest
|
The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Atlanta Braves will take the Division Series to a decisive 5th game. In a must-win situation, the Dodgers beat the Braves, 2-1, at Dodger Stadium to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Los Angeles center fielder Nelson Armendariz went 1 for 2 with a walk.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Dodgers grabbed the lead when Willie Abella rapped a two-out double. Los Angeles was trailing 1-0, when Abella hit a 2-run double off Matt Freeman to put his team in front, 2-1.
"The old adage is true," said Abella. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
