Pat Randolph was not about to watch an opponent celebrate a championship on his home field.

The left-hander pitched the St. Louis Cardinals to victory at Busch Stadium, staving off the Tampa Bay Rays, who remain one game away from a title. Randolph threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball. The win cuts the series deficit for the Cardinals to 3-1 in the best-of-7 series.

Randolph, the St. Louis left-hander, went 8 innings, allowing no runs on 5 hits. He collected 6 strikeouts.

"We found a way to win tonight," Randolph said.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Busch Stadium in St. Louis.
