Cardinals Hammered by Morre, Drop Game 1 to Mets
With second baseman Jared Morre leading the charge, the New York Mets got a road win over the St. Louis Cardinals, 10-9, in Game 1 of the Championship Series. Morre hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice at Busch Stadium to help New York take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.

A key moment came with one out in the top of the first. That's when Morre hit a cutter from Robby Rosado for a 3-run home run, putting New York up, 4-0.

"We came out aggressive," said Mets manager Mets Manager. "We came out swinging the bats."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Busch Stadium in St. Louis.
