Mets Heading to Championship Series
The sweet swing of Tony Ellington has led his team through the Division Series.

The New York Mets star earned series MVP honors as his club downed the Washington Nationals to advance to the Championship Series.

The Mets won the final game at Citi Field by a score of 2-1 and the series 3-2.

"I'm seeing the ball well and happy to contribute to a win," said Ellington. "I hope it continues for the rest of the playoffs."

For the series, Ellington hit .391 with a .391 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 5 runs.

The New York Mets will play against the St. Louis Cardinals in the next round. St. Louis won their series against the Arizona Diamondbacks 3 games to 0. The Championship Series is scheduled to begin on October 19th , 2036.
