Home Loss Shrinks Nationals Series Lead to 2-1
|
The New York Mets have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Washington Nationals, winning, 6-3, at Nationals Park. Mets third baseman Tony Ellington went 4-5 with a triple and 3 singles. The win cuts the deficit facing the Mets to 2-1 in the best-of-5 Division Series.
With one out in the top of the second, Termarr Johnson barreled up a fastball from Melaku Chatha. The result was a 2-run home run, putting the Mets in front, 3-0.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Johnson said after the game.
Game 4 is scheduled for Friday at Citi Field in New York.
