Orioles Advance to Championship Series
|
The Baltimore Orioles "proved we can handle pressure" by beating the Division Series and eliminating the Cleveland Guardians, according to series MVP Jimmy Winter.
"This is the big stage, we're off to the Championship Series and looking towards the World Series," he said. "There's a lot of pressure at this time of year and it's only going to get more intense from here. But I think we can handle it just fine."
Baltimore won the final game 15-4, to wrap up the series 3-1.
Winter led his team to the series win by putting up a .538 average, with a .667 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 1 RBI and scored 9 runs.
The Baltimore Orioles will play against the Seattle Mariners in the next round. Seattle won their series against the Boston Red Sox 3 games to 1. The Championship Series is scheduled to begin on October 18th , 2037.
