Red Sox Win, Move to Within 1 Game of World Series
|
The Boston Red Sox are one game away from a sweep after beating the visiting Minnesota Twins, 5-2, at Fenway Park. Red Sox left-hander Ethan Roach had a standout performance in which he threw 6.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Boston now holds a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 Championship Series.
In the bottom of the fourth, Boston center fielder Danny Clark had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 3rd and two out, Clark stroked a 2-run home run to left. It made the score 2-0, Boston. For the game, he went 1 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"Glad to get this win," said Clark. "But we need to keep playing at a high level."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Fenway Park in Boston.
