Boston Extends Series Lead in Low-Scoring Affair
|
The Boston Red Sox faced a challenging opponent in Minnesota Twins left-hander Isiah Armstrong, but did just enough to squeak out a 2-1 win in Game 2 of the Championship Series. Boston now leads 2-0 in the best-of-7 series. The Red Sox won despite the Twins getting an excellent start from starter Armstrong, who allowed 2 runs and scattered 3 hits over 8 innings.
Boston used a timely hit from Brad Campos to get the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Red Sox ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Campos.
The next game is set to be played for Thursday, October 23rd , 2036 at Fenway Park in Boston.
