WildCard Goes the Distance, Chicago Prevails
|
The sweet swing of Pete Woodberry has led his team through the WildCard.
The Chicago Cubs star earned series MVP honors as his club downed the Washington Nationals to advance to the Division Series.
The Cubs won the final game at Nationals Park by a score of 8-5 and the series 2-1.
"I'm seeing the ball well and happy to contribute to a win," said Woodberry. "I hope it continues for the rest of the playoffs."
For the series, Woodberry hit .462 with a .533 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 4 runs.
The Chicago Cubs will play against the Atlanta Braves in the next round. Atlanta had a bye in the WildCard. The Division Series is scheduled to begin on October 11th , 2037.
