WildCard Game 1 Victory for Vergara and Boston
The Boston Red Sox powered past the visiting Los Angeles Angels, 3-2, in the opener of the WildCard at Fenway Park. Boston starting pitcher Jorge Vergara threw 6.0 innings of 4-hit ball, to lead the charge. The Red Sox now lead the series 1-0.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Red Sox had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the second, when catcher Tony Guerrero hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Carter Ingram and made the score 3-0, Red Sox. Guerrero was 2-3 with 2 singles.

"Jorge attacked hitters and trusted his stuff," said Boston manager Red Sox Manager.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Fenway Park in Boston.
