Sierra Helps Orioles Win, 6-5, with Pair of Homers
|
The Baltimore Orioles topped the Cincinnati Reds, 6-5, with youngster Tony Sierra playing a key role. Sierra hit 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice for the Orioles in the win. Baltimore reliever Dave O'Shields was the winner. His record is now 4-2. Louis Barrow took the loss. Edrian Robinson recorded the save for Baltimore, his 11th of the season.
Baltimore took the lead in the top of the fifth when Sierra hit a 3-run home run. His 17th home run of the season made the score 5-4, Baltimore.
"Every time you put a 'W' on the board is always good," said Sierra.
The Orioles improved their record to 43-30 by beating Cincinnati.
