Cincinnati Gets 7-1 Win
|
The Chicago Cubs went down to defeat to Joel Ellmaker and his Cincinnati teammates. The final score was 7-1, in favor of the Reds. The winner was Ellmaker. He threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball. The loser was Steve Rattray. Cincinnati is now 37-24, 3 games up in the National League East Division.
Cincinnati used a clutch at-bat from Danny Robinson to capture the win. The designated hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Reds ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"What's not to like about a win?" said Robinson.
