San Francisco registered a win at Colorado Field by beating the Colorado Rockies, 4-1. Pitcher Zach Nelson was one reason why the Giants triumphed. Eric Irvin recorded the save, his 16th.
Nelson delivered a quality start for San Francisco. The 6-foot-2 right-hander allowed no earned runs on 3 hits over 7 innings of work.
"I put my work in and trusted the process," said Nelson.
With the win, San Francisco raised its record to 32-29.
