Twins Score Late to Nip Royals, 3-2
|
The Minnesota Twins wiggled past the Kansas City Royals, 3-2, in 11 innings at Target Field. The win was highlighted by the performance of Minnesota pitcher Omar Alcala. Minnesota reliever Omar Mesa was the winner. His record is now 3-4. Alex Alvarado took the loss. The Twins sport a record of 19-41.
The decisive blow was delivered by Mike Kline in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a run-scoring double off fan favorite Alex Alvarado to win the game for Minnesota. The home crowd went nuts.
"The crowd was boisterous tonight," said Alcala.
