Red Sox Defeat Phillies, 7-3
|
The Boston Red Sox topped the Philadelphia Phillies, 7-3, in 13 innings at Citizens Bank Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Boston pitcher Jorge Vergara. The Phillies, now 33-25, have lost 6 straight.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Brad Campos? The Boston first baseman had a bases-clearing double in the top of the 13th inning to put the Red Sox on top, 6-3. For the game, Campos had 2 doubles and 1 single in 7 at-bats.
"We're not exactly playing great right now," said Ponch Phillies, the Philadelphia manager.
