Padres Lose to Braves in Walk-Off
|
There was never a dull moment in an extra-length game between the Atlanta Braves and the San Diego Padres.
The Atlanta Braves clipped the San Diego Padres, 1-0, in 10 innings at Truist Park. The standout performance belonged to Atlanta pitcher and Toronto, Canada, native Terry Bayer. Atlanta reliever Yok-sing Law picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Jose Maldonado was saddled with the loss.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Atlanta second baseman Tony Miranda, facing Jose Maldonado, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Braves the 1-0 win.
"We squandered some opportunities," said San Diego manager Arteom Maximov.
The win elevated the Braves to 28-27.
