Hughes Now 5-4 Following 7-2 Win
New York got a strong outing from Chris Hughes as the Mets defeated the St. Louis Cardinals, 7-2, at Busch Stadium. With the victory, the Mets upped their record to 30-26.

Hughes's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 7 strikeouts in 8.2 innings while allowing 5 hits. Hughes, who finished 2nd in the NL in wins with 15 in 2032, goes to 5-4 on the year with 52 strikeouts.

"Chris was throwing strikes, locating well," said New York manager Mets Manager.
