The Portland Loggers had to overcome a good performance from Texas pitcher Greg Boyle to claim a 3-2 win at Columbia Sportswear Stadium. Boyle went 7 innings and allowed 3 runs. Earning his 10th save for Portland was Eitan Katan. With the win, Portland has a record of 18-34. Texas falls to 24-28.
Chris Seagrave had a big 2-run home run for the Loggers in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Portland trailing 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a sinker from Greg Boyle, who is tied for 4th in the AL with a 2.69 ERA, and punished it. The result was his 9th home run of the season, which put the Loggers on top, 3-2.
"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Seagrave told the Portland Daily News.
