Texas beat Colorado at Colorado Field, escaping with a 6-5 win. The win in large part was due to center fielder Eddie Valdes. He was 3 for 4 with a triple, 2 doubles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Chris Simington locked down his 12th save. The triumph puts Texas at 22-18 for the season.

With Texas leading 1-0 in the top of the fifth, Valdes came up to bat against Colorado pitcher Steve Miller. Valdes hit a changeup to left-center for a run-scoring triple. His 1st triple of the season put the Rangers on top, 2-0.
