Giants Reel In 5-4 Win
|
The San Francisco Giants withstood a fine game by Seattle shortstop Albert Tamayo at Oracle Park, to upend the Mariners, 5-4. Tamayo went 2-4 with a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Nate Plowman picked up the win in relief. Bailyn Roedl took the loss for Seattle. Danny Bryan earned the save, his 2nd, for the Giants.
San Francisco took a 5-4 lead on Kevin Made's 1st home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Made hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Seattle pitcher Bailyn Roedl visibly frustrated.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Seattle manager Austin D.
The Giants, now 21-10, have played well so far.
