Yucatan's Starter Receives LMB Pitching Award Friday, September 1st , 2051 The z-Liga Mexican de Beisbol made it official today -- Gus Pérez of the Yucatan Matadors is the Pitcher of the Month. In August he impressed the sportswriters with his domination of league hitters. Pérez made 6 starts, registered 6 wins and no losses with a solid 2.59 ERA. In 41.2 innings he allowed 45 hits, racked up 30 strikeouts, walked 8 and permitted teams to hit .281 against him. So far this season Pérez has a 13-2 record with a 2.67 ERA. |
