Bimal Torches Gnomes for 5 Hits Thursday, July 10th , 2064 Luke Bimal exploded for a barrage of base hits at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick. The Flagstaff catcher had a field day in his team's 19-9 triumph over the Yuma Gnomes, finishing 5-for-6. "My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Bimal must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Luke Bimal singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run double in the 6th, struck out in the 7th and hit a two-run double in the 8th. This year, Bimal is hitting .356 with 1 home run and 11 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .387 clip and scored 9 runs. View Boxscore |
