Hits Galore: Arias Drills 5 Hits
Tuesday, August 27th, 2019
The Grand Junction Rockies stopped the Medicine Hat Stampede by a score of 10-8 at Ballpark of Medicine Hat today, with the lion's share of the credit going to shortstop Nelson Arias. The 21-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Arias said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Arias did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Stampede.
"Not much that I can say," offered Medicine Hat manager Ignacio Almonte. "He just hammered the heck out of us."
Nelson Arias singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run single in the 4th, hit a two-run double in the 5th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
Thus far this year Arias has hit .290 with 2 home runs and 27 RBIs.
