Wednesday, September 22nd , 2060
The joy and relief on the faces of the West Virginia Black Bears players was obvious as they celebrated their Divisional Series win over the Atlantic City Jokers.
"In a series like this, the smallest thing can make the difference in how it turns out," said West Virginia second baseman Casimer Bureau, shortly after the 3-2 win that clinched the series 4-3. "We're happy we did what it takes to get it done."
The team is now off to the Regional Championship Series.
Bureau won series MVP honors on the strength of his .400 batting average during the series. He also had a .516 on-base percentage and 1 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 6 runs.
The Regional Championship Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the Divisional Series finishes.
