State College Wins Top Spot in New York-Penn League South Division Wednesday, September 3rd , 2059 The State College Spikes are champions of the New York-Penn League South Division, but don't plan the parade quite yet. "It's a nice accomplishment, but we haven't done anything until we win the A- Championship Series," said left fielder Ramón Salazar. "We're going to celebrate this for sure, but the real celebration is still to come for fans in State College." The club's record currently sits at 46-21. It is the team's 25th division title and they will be seeking the franchise's 6th Short Season A championship. Team manager Bobby Spencer said he plans to take some time to celebrate the division title, but then it's "back to work" for members of the team and coaching staff. |
