Great Stroke: Danielson Gets 5 Hits
Sunday, July 10th , 2061
It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-6 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Jerry Danielson, it came around today.
The 23-year-old second baseman scattered hits all over Redding Grounds to pace the 9-8 Gold Beach Sea Unicorns victory over the Wenatchee Chiefs.
Wenatchee skipper Oscar Wilson told reporters in the press room that "Danielson deserves a hat-tip."
"He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Danielson hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit."
Jerry Danielson singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a GRAND SLAM off J.J. Long in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 9th and flied out in the 11th.
In his season totals, Danielson has 1 home run, .667 BA, .682 OBP, 8 RBIs and 2 runs scored. He has played in 6 games.
