Campbell on Fire: 6-for-8 for Medford
Monday, August 4th , 2064
Tyler Campbell was at the head of a Medford Flying Tigers hit parade at Ballpark of Victoria. The 19-year-old went to the plate 8 times and came away with 6 hits, but it was the Olympia Spartans that marched off with the 16-15 win.
"We didn't have it today," griped Flying Tigers skipper Ray Badgerow following the game. "Tyler did fine, but as a team, we didn't do it with the bats and we didn't do it pitching."
Campbell did more than fine, dominating the Spartans at the plate during his record-making 6-for-8 performance.
"Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging shortstop told reporters. "When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats."
Tyler Campbell singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Mark Schenk in the 6th, doubled in the 8th, grounded out in the 9th, singled in the 11th and singled in the 14th.
