Abreu Will Sit Out 3 Games, Suspended by League
Friday, September 9th , 2050
Pasqual Abreu was incensed today after he was suspended by the commissioner's office for 3 games following a wild argument at the Redmond-Hamilton game. The league cited the Rattlers shortstop for "inappropriate and aggressive conduct," in the notification letter. Abreu strongly objected to a questionable call by the home plate umpire and was ejected.
"Ejection? Maybe. But not suspension. It's ludicrous is what it is. It's totally uncalled for. I have no idea why. You have to ask the people in the league office that wear the coats and ties and don't get on the field. I didn't cause the altercation, the umpire did. It was a lousy call."
This season Abreu is hitting .244 with 4 home runs.
