Villanueva and Sanchez Suspended 4 Games for Brawl Wednesday, August 17th , 2050 Tempers were flaring yesterday at Monongalia County Ballpark. Both the Jokers and Owls were defending their turf. A few punches were thrown, but fortunately very few landed -- there was more wrestling than fighting. When the umpires sorted everything out, Atlantic City's Rico Villanueva and Roseburg's Sean Sanchez were ejected from the game. Today the league office suspended Villanueva and Sanchez for 4 games each. Currently Villanueva is batting .288 with 38 hits and 5 home runs. He has knocked in 27 runs and scored 22 times. This year Sanchez has notched no saves. He has 27 strikeouts and 31 walks in 30.1 innings while registering a 8.31 ERA and a 1-0 won-lost record. |
