Sleva Thwarts Pittsburg, 14-0 Friday, August 12th , 2061 It wasn't easy but the Riverside Red Wave made it look that way. Starter Grim Sleva shut out the Pittsburg Diamonds despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Riverside Red Wave cruised to victory, 14-0. Sleva allowed only 4 hits and rang up 9 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win. "It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up." To date Sleva is 8-4 in 22 starts with a 3.17 ERA and has 101 strikeouts in 127.2 innings. View Boxscore |
