Quin Bashes 5 Base Hits Saturday, May 4th , 2052 It takes more than one player to win a baseball game - as proven by Daric Quin of the Modesto Nuts. The Modesto left fielder gave it his all and dominated Santa Cruz Cruisers pitching today at LoanMart Field, finishing with a great 5-for-6 line. However, when the game ended, the scoreboard showed the Cruisers going home the winner, 8-7. "There's no point gloating about a 5-hit day in a loss," Quin said later. "A loss just means you should have done more. Maybe I should have hit 5 home runs instead." Daric Quin hit a solo-shot off Dave Curiel in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and singled in the 9th. In 21 games this year Quin has posted a .333 average and put up these numbers: 4 home runs, 17 RBIs and 22 runs scored. View Boxscore |
