Injury Sidelines Alfredo Barrios For Year
Sunday, September 2nd, 2007
The doctors have spoken and Alfredo Barrios of the Huixquilucan Cannoneers didn't like what he heard. The 32-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Barrios sustained his season-ending injury during the Delicias Canucks game yesterday at Huixquilucan Grounds. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Huixquilucan medical staff reported Barrios had a ruptured disc and would be absent from the lineup for at least 7-8 months.
In 22 starts this season Barrios has notched a 8-4 record and a 2.16 ERA.
