Pirates Lose Andres Marron Wednesday, July 21st, 2027 Dealing with injuries is part of the game, and now Andres Marron of the Pirates knows this firsthand. He was injured against the Chicago Cubs while throwing a pitch. Because of biceps tendinitis, the Pittsburgh closer is expected to miss 6 weeks. Marron was a little upset, but understands it comes with the territory. "Baseball can be a contact sport. You try to be careful, but no matter how careful you are, injuries happen." Up to this point in the season, Marron has fashioned a 4-2 won-lost mark, made 29 relief appearances and rung up 12 saves. He has a 1.57 ERA and has allowed 22 hits over his 34.1 innings of work, struck out 48 batters and walked 14. |
