Friday, June 25th, 2027
The Cleveland Indians topped the Chicago Cubs by a score of 17-3 at Tecumseh Field today but all the talk was on first baseman Nick Metz.
The Cleveland star hit for the cycle in a show-stealing performance, powering his club to the win. Metz went 4-for-5, collecting 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run to go along with 7 RBI and 4 runs scored.
"I felt comfortable at the plate in a way I haven't felt all season," Metz said after the game. "It was like they were throwing beach balls at me - the ball seemed that big. And it just floated in."
Nick Metz hit a two-run double in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run triple in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Joe Roberts in the 6th and struck out in the 8th.
This season Metz has hit at a .383 clip and produced 15 runs batted in, 2 home runs and 14 runs.
