Yankees Mark Heap Will Miss Season
Tuesday, May 25th, 2027
The doctors have spoken and Mark Heap of the New York Yankees didn't like what he heard. The 23-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Heap sustained his season-ending injury during the Miami Marlins game yesterday at Yankee Stadium. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the New York medical staff reported Heap had a stretched elbow ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 8-9 months.
This year Heap has no saves in 17 relief appearances with a 1-0 record and 6.67 ERA.
