Martinez Runs Hit String to 30 Straight Games Friday, July 13th , 2035 Juan Martinez has been on a tear for several weeks, and his hitting streak just keeps getting longer. The 31-year-old Texas Rangers shortstop extended his streak today to 30 games, going 2-for-4 as Texas got the best of the Virginia Black Bears at Globe Life Park in Arlington, 4-2. "Juan has been playing real well lately and we're proud of him," Rangers manager Sergio Barbosa said. Juan Martinez grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th and grounded out in the 6th. A look at his current stats shows Martinez with a .348 average, no home runs, 27 RBIs and 55 runs scored. He has played in 86 games. |
