Monday, June 18th , 2035
It likely won't turn either team into an instant contender or provide a huge franchise shakeup, but the Kansas City Royals and Fresno Falcons finalized a trade today. Kansas City will send 33-year old minor league RF Elias Requejo, 29-year old minor league 1B Kyle Dillion, 31-year old minor league 1B Nate Conston, and 32-year old minor league LHP Matt Johnson to the Falcons, while the Royals will receive 28-year old CF Jim Whipkey.

"We think this is a deal that will help out both teams and we're glad to get it done," Royals general manager Matt Kramer said.

The trade is expected to be officially completed later today with the players joining their new ballclubs by the end of the day.

Kansas City will retain a portion of Dillion's remaining contract.
Kansas City will retain a portion of Conston's remaining contract.
Kansas City will retain a portion of Johnson's remaining contract.
Fresno will retain a portion of Whipkey's remaining contract.

This season Johnson has compiled a 1-2 record with a 8.27 ERA in 5 starts.

This season Whipkey is batting .213 with no home runs.
