Hit Parade: Whipkey Pops 5 Hits Saturday, April 12th , 2031 No matter what the Houston Astros threw at him today, Jim Whipkey hit it. He easily handled Astros pitching, going 5 for 5 and helping the Terriers to a 12-3 triumph at Busch Stadium presented by Purina. "The way I was swinging today, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview. Told of Whipkey's quip, Astros skipper Jim Watts said he "would take him up on that next time." Jim Whipkey singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and hit a two-run single in the 7th.
