Dessau Sizzles with 20-Game Batting Streak Monday, April 23rd , 2035 Oakland lost to the Seattle Mariners 9-3 at Safeco Field today, but Matt Dessau kept his consecutive-game hitting streak alive with 2 hits. The Athletics left fielder has now delivered hits in 20 straight games. "Matt has a nice streak going, but the scoreboard tells the important story today," Oakland manager Bob Huntley told reporters after the game. "We lost, no matter how many hits anyone had." Matt Dessau struck out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Oliver Munro in the 4th, grounded out in the 7th and doubled in the 9th. In 18 games this season Dessau is batting .360 with 27 hits and 4 home runs. He has scored 15 runs and driven in 12. |
